Endodontic Microsurgery in Hanover, PA
Advanced care when a root canal is not enough
What is endodontic microsurgery?
Endodontic microsurgery, often called an apicoectomy, treats infection at the tip of a tooth root when a standard root canal or retreatment cannot resolve it. Using a surgical microscope, Dr. Adams removes the infected tissue and seals the end of the root.
When is it recommended?
It may be recommended when canals are blocked or calcified, when a restoration cannot be removed without damaging the tooth, or when infection persists after previous treatment.
Recovery
Most patients return to normal activities within a day or two. Dr. Adams will explain aftercare and follow up to make sure healing is on track.
